We have developed a widely recognized reputation of providing state of the art services in the fields of naval architecture, salvage engineering, marine engineering and commercial diving. The technical expertise of our personnel is backed by extensive sea going and shipboard operations experience, which gives JMS a unique understanding of our customers' requirements. Specializing in marine casualty prevention and response, JMS' technical services address the environmental concerns of today's maritime industry.
From our headquarters in Connecticut and field offices around the U.S., our staff of naval architects, engineers, salvors, oil spill managers, ship captains and technical specialists are highly qualified, and ideally located to rapidly respond to our clients' needs. Our experience in naval architecture, marine engineering, salvage engineering, and shipboard operations is extensive and applies to a wide variety of ship types for both commercial and government clients. We have provided specialized engineering services for all types of vessels including passenger ferries, research vessels, dredges, bulk carriers, tankers, container ships, barges, diving vessels and tugs.
JMS personnel also have extensive commercial and naval diving experience including ship's husbandry, facility repair and shipyard operations. Divers Institute of Technology [DIT], owned and operated by JMS, is one of the leading commercial diver training schools. JMS also provides customized training for salvage response, commercial diving, oil spill cleanup operations, hazardous material handling, confined space entry and refresher training for vessel crews.
Our salvage capability is augmented by an alliance with Weeks Marine, one of the largest marine and underwater construction companies in the United States. Weeks Jamestown Incorporated [WJI] combines the skill and technical expertise of JMS engineers with the assets of Weeks Marine for the most complete salvage solution.
