Job Description
Join a respected flag administration in Piraeus as Ships Registrar, managing vessel registrations, ensuring regulatory compliance, reporting and liaising with stakeholders in a client-focused team.
An exciting opportunity to work with a well-established ship registry in Greece in the capacity of Registrar within the Greece Registration team.
Working within the global Registration Team, the key client delivery team of the flag state. The team is vocal point in client delivery and ensure compliance to flag state legal framework and international maritime regulations upon registration of vessels.
Responsibilities
The Registration Team is key to provide efficient and client-focused services to our stakeholders and customers. With clients across the global maritime industry, the team is the vocal point in client delivery and ensures compliance of flag state legal framework and international maritime regulations upon registration of vessels.
Manage the registration activities for all new and existing vessels registered through the Piraeus office
Ensure that all transactions are completed in accordance with the flag administration legislative framework and standard policies in the Piraeus office
Coordinate for the training and development of Piraeus registration staff
Liaise with other Registrars on registration procedures and policies to ensure that there is a unified approach
Provide annual IMO Tonnage Assessment Report in rotation with other Registrars
Provide annual financial reports on new ship registration for Piraeus registration department
Provide quarterly and annual registration/deletion reports
Represent the flag administration as Registrar in the region at client meetings, seminars, exhibits
Requirements
Undergraduate degree-level with law being preferable
Previous experience working as senior in a registry (flag administration) or registration team at shipping company
Up to seven years or more experience working in a client-based industry; working directly with lawyers would be useful
Ability to read and understand mortgage instruments
Understanding of IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL and other international maritime conventions
Experience using vessel registration database
Knowledge of shipping, contract law, business law or insurance
Experience in document management systems
Personal qualities required:
Fluent in written and spoken Greek and English
Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills

Good attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate is essential
Highly developed written and oral presentation skills in a professional manner
Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
