The M/V INDEPENDENCE is a dynamically positioned research vessel primarily operating off the West Coast of the USA. The Assistant Engineer works with the Chief Engineer to ensure the vessel is maintained in a seaworthy, clean and safe manner. The Assistant Engineer maintains all shipboard systems including, but not limited to propulsion, electrical, electronic, fuel, hydraulic, sanitation and potable water systems. The Asst. Engineer is the officer in charge of an engineering watch and assists in the supervision of the engineering department. LOCATION:  Oxnard, CAJOB STATUS: Full Time 28 day on, 28 day off Rotational PositionSECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret SCI eligibility; Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within 90 days.  U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants EDUCATION: HS Diploma or Equivalent CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess USCG License (Merchant Mariner’s Credential) for Third Assistant Engineer 2500 HPEXPERIENCE LEVEL: Shall hold an open ocean U.S. Coas
