Job Description

Responsibilities: Responsible for the administration of practical competency assessments as regulated by the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Code (STCW 1995), or its successor, as directed by the Academic Dean during the academic semesters and summer, and by the Master of the Training Vessel during Sea Term. Additional duties may include deck watchstanding, small training vessel operation, supervision of maintenance, instructional assignments, ship's business and inventory control. SUPERVISION: Reports to the Academic Dean or his/her designee. May supervise any subordinate professional administrator, classified and/or student employee assigned to the Training Vessel. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: USCG license as Chief Mate, with service on the license, or higher for any tonnage and any ocean, current STCW documentation at the Management Level and a Bachelors degree or higher are required. The candidate must have exceptional coordination and management skills. Ideal candidate will have participated in preparing and reviewing auditing procedures. POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, professional position, with benefits ANNUAL SALARY: Commensurate with experience /professional certifications START DATE: 1 March 2005
