Fitter/Welder

Responsibilities: Fit and weld fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms in the assembly and production of ocean-going barges and other marine equipment. Perform welder-fitter work accordingly at the direction of Gunderson marine supervisory personnel. Qualifications: 1. Ability to weld with stick rod (6011 & 7018) in all positions and certifiable in at least 7018. 2. Ability to weld and certifiable in 1/16” flux core wire in all positions and unlimited thickness plate. 3. Hand tool experience- come-a-longs, port-a-powers dogs & wedges, saddles, hand torches and track burners and grinders. 4. Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality using a hand-cutting torch. 5. Ability to follow verbal instructions. 6. Must have good initiative and able to work on your own or with others. 7. Willing to work out in the weather. 8. Able to climb Ladders and work off scaffolding.
