Job Description

Qualifications: Large international construction company with activities in more than 15 countries and a leader in the construction industry in Europe is looking for a seasoned Project Design Engineer that possesses a BS Civil Engineering, with emphasis in transportation to help lead the design team on the design phase of the Trans Texas Corridor Project.<p> The opportunity is immediate and is located in Austin, TX.<p> Basic professional profile and duties:<p> 1. Require 6+ years heavy civil construction experience with at least 3 years in highway design including direct experience in alignment. <p>2. Experience on major highway projects and working knowledge of TxDot standards. <p>3. Direct working knowledge of Geopak or Microstation. <p>4. Capable of directing/supervising outside consultants. <p>5. Supervise design documents produced by consultants to be submitted in DBFO tenders. <p>6. Review bills of quantities produced by consultants. <p>7. Prepare partial preliminary alignments to help in the direction of sub consultants as guidelines for value engineering exercises, etc. <p>8. Prepare design documents and sketches, plot drawings and alignment plans following proposal submittal as well as participating in the presentation of these proposals <p> Other desirable capabilities: <p> <p>1. Technical higher education or membership of a professional institution. <p>2. Experience in Design Build (DB) projects. <p>3. Right attitude and desire to succeed. <p>4. Availability to travel within the US. <p>5. Spanish language will be highly desired but not required.
