Job Description

Responsibilities: Rotation and Compensation:  All Deck Officers work “Two months on/One month off” rotation  Officers rotate between the Nantucket Clipper and Yorktown Clipper  Full benefits including Medical, Dental, Life, Personal Accident and Disability Insurance, 401(k) available after 1 year. Additionally all management take part in the company profit-sharing program. Qualifications: New World Ship Management is searching for a Chief Officer Minimum Qualifications:  USCG license: 1600 Ton near coastal license with 3000 ITC or larger or Third Mate – Unlimited license  Radar endorsement  STCW 95 requirements  Marine Radio Operator’s License including GMDSS Certificate  The applicant should be educated, well-spoken, and posses the social skills that would be required on a passenger ship. Job Description:  Stand watch at sea  Management of the deck department in compliance with the Master’s orders and New World Ship Management Company, LLC Safety Management System  Acting as Training and Safety Officer on board  Preparation of a training program of Fire, Abandon Ship, Man Overboard and other emergency drills  Ensure that all safety equipment including gangway, Lifeboats, Rescue Boats, Liferafts, S.A.R.T.’s and E.P.I.R.B.’s are in working order.  Exterior maintenance and appearance of the vessel and assigned interior spaces.  Management of consumable stocks associated with maintenance responsibilities.  Ensuring appropriate and safe seamanship skills are practiced in the conduct of deck operations, including: tender and zodiac operations, line handling and anchoring procedures.  The fulfillment of objectives as set by the Master  Perform other duties as the Master may direct  Social skills required to work on a passenger vessel Contact Information: Captain Scott C.
