Job Description

Responsibilities: Survey general cargo ships, bulk carriers, boats, tankers, passenger ships and draggers to ascertain condition of hull , machinery equipment and installations and to determine repairs required for vessel to meet international rules and insurance requirements, examine underwater section of hull while ship in dry dock to ascertain condition of ship's hull and indicate repairs required; evaluate readings of tail shaft and rudder bearings ; inspect condition of propellers, rudders and sea valves; inspect ship above waterline for compliance with operationg standards and international maritime organization rules; prepare reports, recommend actions and repairs and certify ships in accordance with vessel flag requirements. Prev. wage F/T permanent. Qualifications: BE in Naval Architecture/Marine eng. and 5 years experience required
