Job Description

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include managing the calculation, tracking, analysis, and journalizing of monthly payroll transactions and union contributions of TyCom's six new foreign flagged ships as they are placed in service as well as TyCom's five US flagged cable ships. Additional responsibilities include crewing TyCom's foreign flagged ships with Filipino seafarers in a timely manner and classifying expenses and withholdings to ensure timely submittal to the accounting department and TyCom's contracted manning agency in the Philippines. Many of the functions of this position are unstructured due to the uniqueness of the marine operations and are unlike similarly classified jobs. Must be eager to learn. Qualifications: A minimum of one year of accounting/finance experience; Foreign crewing of marine personnel is not similar to human resources. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate extensive knowledge of international manning agencies and the maritime industry; Good interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; Demonstrated organizational skills; Self reliance and independent motivation; Proficiency in MS Office application, specifically Office, Word, and Excel. Bachelor's /Business or Finance is required.
