Job Description
Responsibilities:
Our client requires someone who is of graduate calibre and highly computer literate to:
Develop a team which will focus on controlling and managing empty stock levels, equipment turnround and logistics costs.
Manage the provision of container stocks to satisfy the varying requirements of AWS trades.
Control of leasing for fleet requirements.
Negotiate with contractors, either directly or through local agents, rates for lifting, storage and empty positioning.
Represent AWS interests with other shipping lines on container matters.
Manage the AWS container fleet.
Manage leasing arrangements with all major leasing companies, making decisions on which company AWS use.
Consult with trades on arrangements with other shipping lines.
Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained in overseas trading areas, through close liaison with trades.
Ensure trades are supplied with appropriate guidance on movement of equipment within trade areas.
Negotiate cabotage terms with other lines and operators.
Ensure trades are regularly supplied with up-to-date information on stock levels and slow moving containers .
