The Homeland Security Institute (HSI) is a not-for-profit, federally-funded Research and Development Center with the following Mission, Objective and Core Competencies:
MISSION - To assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate and the DHS Operating Elements, in addressing important homeland security issues, particularly those requiring scientific, technical, and analytical expertise.
OBJECTIVE - Provide a systems and integrated approach to evaluating homeland security systems and technologies at all stages of development, deployment and use.
