River Transportation transports approximately 25 million tons of coal annually to AEP generating stations on the Ohio and Kanawha rivers. In addition, the division delivers four to five million tons of coal and stone for outside customers. River Transportation maintains a fleet of 15 towboats, 2 Harbor boats, and over 600 barges.
