Broadwater Energy has been formed as a joint venture between TransCanada Pipelines Corporation (TCPL USA LNG, Inc.) and Shell US Gas & Power LLC to address energy shortages threatening the Long Island Sound region of New York and Connecticut.
Broadwater plans to build and install a facility resembling a large ship, to be moored in Long Island Sound between CT and NY. The facility will receive imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from LNG tankers. LNG will be "re-gasified" at the floating facility and transported by underwater pipeline connecting to the existing Iroquois gas pipeline for further distribution.
By 2010 Broadwater would be safely and reliably delivering a large new supply of clean-burning natural gas to homes, businesses and power generation plants.
Please click on the website icon above for a detailed explanation of the Broadwater LNG Project.
Your input will help Broadwater build a project compatible with the public interests in the region.
