WHAT IS SIMSITE?
Simsite is a graphite-fiber reinforced composite material manufactured by the Sims Pump Valve Company. Simsite is a heavy duty structural composite laminate material which must be machined to create such parts as impellers and casing rings. Specifically, it is a graphite combination-fiber reinforced composite material with phenolic resin. Depending on the application, the fibers are interwoven in a bi-directional or tri-directional weave. The reinforcing fibers are all continuous for high strength. The Simsite composite consists of equal amounts of structural fibers and resin for high physical properties and a wide range of chemical resistance.
Founded in 1967, US Ice Machines Mfg. Co. (USIMCO) manufactures ice machines designed to meet the widely varying needs of different industries ranging from 1-1/4 ton to 20 ton models that can produce 2,500 to 40,000 lbs of ice per day. USIMCO machines deliver ice that is rock-hard for just pennies per lb. The product line includes machines that produce cracked ice, cylinder ice and block ice. There are also marine-based salt water ice machines and ozonated ice machines. USIMCO is in the process of developing a flaked ice machine.
