AD Ports Group partners with Cameroon's Douala port to invest $87 million in a new dry bulk terminal, adding 4 million tonnes of capacity.

In a move to bolster Cameroon's maritime infrastructure, AD Ports Group has joined a concession to develop a new dry bulk terminal at the Port of Douala, the country's largest port. According to Seatrade Maritime, the $87 million phase one investment will add 4 million tonnes of dry bulk capacity to the Douala port complex. This expansion is part of Cameroon's broader efforts to modernize and expand its port facilities to support growing trade and economic activity. 'This agreement marks an important milestone in AD Ports Group's African growth strategy, as we partner with the Douala Grand Port to develop a world-class dry bulk terminal that will serve the needs of Cameroon and the broader Central African region,' said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group. The new terminal will handle a range of dry bulk commodities including grains, cement, and other critical inputs for the Cameroonian and regional economies. This investment aligns with AD Ports' strategy of expanding its global port and logistics footprint, leveraging its operational expertise to support infrastructure development in emerging markets. The Douala port expansion is the latest in a series of investments by AD Ports to grow its African presence, following recent deals in Egypt, Mozambique, and Tanzania. As global trade patterns shift and new economic centers emerge, strategic port infrastructure will be crucial to unlocking economic growth across the continent.
