Eve Air Mobility has entered a strategic collaboration with Alt Air and Skyports Infrastructure to develop electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) solutions in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.
Eve Air Mobility, a global leader in next-generation eVTOL development, has announced a new strategic partnership with Alt Air and Skyports Infrastructure to advance electric aviation in Australia.
According to the press release, the collaboration will focus on establishing eVTOL operations and supporting infrastructure in the states of New South Wales and Queensland. Alt Air, a new advanced air mobility company, will work with Eve and Skyports to identify suitable vertiport locations, obtain necessary regulatory approvals, and prepare the market for commercial eVTOL services.
'This partnership represents an important step forward in bringing electric air mobility to Australia,' said Jerry DeMuro, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. 'By leveraging Alt Air's local expertise and Skyports' vertiport development capabilities, we can accelerate the adoption of sustainable air transportation solutions across the region.'
The announcement comes as the Australian government has expressed growing interest in urban air mobility as a way to reduce congestion and emissions in major cities. Regulatory bodies have been working to establish the necessary frameworks to enable eVTOL operations, providing opportunities for companies like Eve, Alt Air, and Skyports to collaborate on infrastructure development.
'We're excited to partner with Eve and Skyports to pioneer electric aviation in Australia,' said Liam Garman, CEO of Alt Air. 'Our complementary capabilities will allow us to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience for passengers and unlock the full potential of this transformative technology.'
The project timeline and specific deployment plans were not disclosed, but the companies stated they will provide updates as the initiative progresses. This collaboration represents a significant milestone in Eve's global expansion strategy and demonstrates the growing momentum behind the urban air mobility sector in the Asia-Pacific region.
