Azbil recognized for smart building solutions in Asia-Pacific, while the carbon fiber market is projected to grow rapidly in the region driven by renewable energy and mobility applications.

The maritime industry is seeing increasing demand for sustainable technologies and materials, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Two recent reports highlight these emerging trends: Azbil Corporation, a leading provider of building automation and smart infrastructure solutions, has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan as the 2025 Company of the Year for the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia markets. According to the industry analyst firm, Azbil was honored for its 'leadership in sustainable smart infrastructure, cutting-edge building automation, and people-centric innovation' across the region. 'Azbil's commitment to developing innovative solutions that improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance the user experience in buildings has positioned the company as a true pioneer in smart and sustainable infrastructure,' said a Frost & Sullivan analyst. The recognition underscores the growing importance of advanced building technologies in supporting climate goals and livability in Asia's rapidly developing urban centers. Meanwhile, a new market research report from Mordor Intelligence projects that the global carbon fiber market will grow at a CAGR of 18.06% from 2026 to 2031, driven largely by expanding demand in the Asia-Pacific region. The analysts cite the material's applications in renewable energy infrastructure, as well as the automotive and aerospace industries, as key growth factors. 'The Asia-Pacific region is expected to be the fastest-growing market for carbon fiber, owing to the increasing demand from the renewable energy and mobility sectors,' the report states. Countries like China, India, and Japan are investing heavily in wind power, electric vehicles, and other low-carbon technologies that rely on lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber composites. The confluence of sustainability priorities and infrastructure development across Asia is creating new opportunities for innovative maritime suppliers and service providers. As the industry continues its decarbonization efforts, these regional trends are likely to shape the sector's technology roadmap in the years ahead.
