GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil's largest airline, has announced new non-stop flights between Rio de Janeiro and Orlando, Florida, expanding connectivity between South America and the United States.

In a move to boost tourism and business travel, GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil's most on-time airline, has announced the launch of new non-stop flights between Rio de Janeiro's RIOgaleão International Airport (GIG) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). The route will be operated using Airbus A330 aircraft, providing increased capacity and comfort for passengers traveling between the two destinations. 'This new service will make it easier for Brazilians to visit Orlando, one of the world's top tourist destinations, while also giving American travelers more options to experience the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro,' said Celso Ferrer, GOL's Vice President of Operations. 'We're excited to connect these two important markets and facilitate the exchange of people, ideas and economic opportunities.' The new flights are expected to commence in June 2026, operating four times per week. This represents a significant expansion of GOL's international route network, which has traditionally focused on connecting major Brazilian cities. The addition of the Rio-Orlando service aligns with the airline's strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for direct flights between South America and the United States. According to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, over 2 million Brazilians visited the United States in 2025, spending an estimated $8 billion. Florida, with its world-class theme parks, beaches and business hubs, is a particularly popular destination for Brazilian travelers. The new GOL flights are poised to make that journey more convenient and accessible. 'This is an important milestone for air connectivity between Brazil and the United States,' commented Bernardo Parnes, President of the Brazil-U.S. Business Council. 'Improved flight options will strengthen the economic and cultural ties between our two countries, benefiting businesses, families and tourists on both sides of the partnership.'
