EcoVadis and Watershed Partner to Improve Scope 3 Emissions Reporting
By MGN Editorial•March 12, 2026 at 07:09 PM
EcoVadis and Watershed announce a partnership to help companies better measure and report on their Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
In a move to address the 'Scope 3 data gap' in corporate carbon accounting, EcoVadis and Watershed have announced a new partnership. The collaboration will see the companies work together to provide businesses with more comprehensive tools and data to measure, report, and reduce their indirect (Scope 3) emissions.
According to the press release, the partnership 'is a cornerstone of EcoVadis' mission to build the market's most interconnected Carbon Data Network.' The launch of EcoVadis' new PCF Calculator, combined with Watershed's emissions tracking capabilities, aims to give companies better visibility into their full carbon footprint.
'Scope 3 emissions, which account for the majority of most organizations' greenhouse gas impact, have historically been the most difficult to measure and manage,' said Pierre-François Thaler, co-CEO of EcoVadis. 'This partnership with Watershed is a major step forward in closing that data gap and enabling companies to take meaningful climate action across their value chains.'
The maritime industry, with its complex global supply chains, has faced particular challenges in accurately reporting Scope 3 emissions. This new EcoVadis-Watershed initiative could provide shipowners, ports, logistics providers and others with more robust tools to improve their environmental disclosures and sustainability efforts.
'Reducing Scope 3 emissions is critical for companies to meet their climate goals,' added Taylor Francis, co-founder and CEO of Watershed. 'We're excited to partner with EcoVadis to make it easier for organizations to access the data and insights they need to drive meaningful emissions reductions.'
