Guizhou's Stunning Bridges Become New Tourism Landmark in China

By MGN EditorialMarch 9, 2026 at 11:55 AM

A series of super bridges spanning deep gorges in southwest China's Guizhou province are transforming the region's landscape and development.

Nestled among the karst mountains of southwest China, a network of impressive bridges is emerging as a new tourism landmark in Guizhou province. According to a report from China News Service (CNS), these super bridges spanning deep gorges and reaching toward the clouds are dramatically changing Guizhou's geographical and economic landscape. Once described as 'a land without roads,' Guizhou is now home to an engineering marvel that is drawing visitors from around the world. The bridges, some stretching over 1,000 meters long, connect remote mountainous areas and have unlocked new opportunities for tourism, transportation, and development in this historically isolated region. 'These bridges are not just feats of engineering, they are transforming the way people experience and interact with Guizhou's stunning natural environment,' said Li Wei, a local tourism official. 'They are quickly becoming an iconic part of the province's identity and a must-see destination for travelers.' The bridges are part of a broader infrastructure push in Guizhou, which has historically lagged other regions of China in economic development. With improved connectivity, the province is seeing a boom in tourism, with visitors drawn to the region's karst landscapes, minority cultures, and now its remarkable bridge crossings. 'The bridges have opened up Guizhou in a way that was unimaginable just a decade ago,' said transportation analyst Feng Jianhua. 'This is a game-changer for a province that was once considered remote and inaccessible. Now it's on the map as a unique travel destination.'
