Hanwha Power has obtained Approval in Principle (AiP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for the concept design of a 22,000 cubic metre LNG bunkering vessel, marking a significant step forward in the South Korean conglomerate's push to establish itself as an integrated maritime energy solutions provider.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the company's participation at GASTECH 2026, where Hanwha Power exhibited alongside group affiliates Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Engines. The joint showcase was designed to demonstrate the Hanwha Group's end-to-end capabilities across the marine and energy sectors.
