Hard Rock Foundation Donates $400K for Hurricane Melissa Relief in Jamaica

By MGN EditorialMarch 23, 2026 at 11:47 PM

The Hard Rock Heals Foundation has raised over $400,000 to support Jamaica's recovery from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa.

The maritime industry is rallying to support Jamaica's recovery efforts following the destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 storm that struck the island nation in March 2026. According to a press release from the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, the charitable arm of Hard Rock International, the company's 'Stay Strong Jamaica' relief campaign has raised over $400,000 to assist with recovery and rebuilding. The funds will be directed to Jamaica's Promise, a local non-profit organization, to support their ongoing relief and restoration work. 'Jamaica is a special place for the Hard Rock family, and we are committed to helping the island and its people recover and rebuild in the wake of this devastating hurricane,' said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International. 'The resilience and strength of the Jamaican people is an inspiration, and we are honored to play a role in supporting their recovery efforts.' Hurricane Melissa caused widespread damage across Jamaica, with storm surges, high winds, and flooding impacting critical infrastructure, homes, and businesses. The storm resulted in dozens of fatalities and left thousands displaced from their communities. 'The donation from the Hard Rock Heals Foundation will make a tremendous difference as we work to restore power, clear debris, and provide essential supplies and temporary housing to those affected,' said Marlon James, Executive Director of Jamaica's Promise. 'We are grateful for this show of support from our friends at Hard Rock during this challenging time.' The maritime industry has rallied to support Jamaica's recovery, with shipping lines, port operators, and other stakeholders contributing to relief efforts. The Caribbean Shipping Association, for example, has organized cargo shipments of emergency supplies to the island. As the region continues to grapple with the impacts of increasingly severe hurricane seasons, the maritime community's role in disaster response and resilience will only grow in importance. The Hard Rock Heals Foundation's donation is a welcome example of the industry stepping up to support its partners and communities in times of crisis.
