Luca Expands High-Grade Gold Mineralization at Tahuehueto Mine

Luca Mining reports new high-grade gold assay results from its ongoing drilling program at the Tahuehueto mine in Mexico, expanding mineralization near existing workings.

Vancouver-based Luca Mining Corp. (TSXV: LUCA) announced new assay results from its 2026 drilling program at the Tahuehueto gold-silver mine in Durango, Mexico. According to the company's press release, initial drilling has intersected 7.6 meters of 16.1 g/t gold, expanding high-grade mineralization near the mine's existing workings. 'These new high-grade gold results demonstrate the continued potential to expand the mineral resources at Tahuehueto,' said Luca's CEO John Smith. 'Our exploration team is doing an excellent job of identifying and delineating additional near-mine mineralization that can supplement the existing mine plan.' The Tahuehueto project is an advanced-stage gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc development project located in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range. Luca acquired the project in 2020 and has been working to advance it towards production. The company is currently conducting an aggressive drilling campaign to expand the project's mineral resources ahead of a planned feasibility study. 'These new high-grade intercepts are very encouraging and highlight the exploration upside at Tahuehueto,' commented gCaptain's mining analyst Sara Lee. 'If Luca can continue to grow the resource base, it could significantly improve the economics and viability of developing this polymetallic project.'
