Maersk's Methanol-Powered Flagship Immortalized in LEGO

In a move that celebrates the maritime industry's push towards sustainability, the Danish toy giant LEGO is set to launch a new collector's set featuring Maersk's methanol-powered flagship, the Ane Maersk. The 'Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel (40955)' set, which hits shelves on March 1, brings the world's first container ship capable of running on green methanol to life in LEGO form. According to gCaptain, the 1,552-piece model 'captures the vessel's sleek, modern design and innovative dual-fuel capabilities.' The Ane Maersk, which was delivered to Maersk in 2022, is the first in a series of eight methanol-powered container ships the company has on order. These vessels represent a significant step forward in the industry's efforts to reduce emissions and transition towards more sustainable fuels.
