Montreal-based navigation technology firm OSCP has announced the launch of **NavigationGate**, a new inertial navigation system (INS) module designed to maintain accurate positioning for maritime platforms and offshore installations operating in environments where satellite signal reception is compromised or lost entirely.
According to PR Newswire, pre-orders for the first production batch are now open. The system centres on a new processing module capable of transforming any of OSCP's existing inertial measurement units (IMUs) into a fully integrated INS through advanced sensor fusion techniques.
The development addresses a growing concern across the maritime and offshore sectors: the vulnerability of GPS-dependent navigation systems to signal degradation, jamming, or spoofing. In congested shipping lanes, polar regions, and areas of geopolitical tension, reliable positioning without satellite dependency has become an operational priority.
