Residential Energy Storage Orchestration Expands with WeaveGrid and FranklinWH Partnership

By MGN EditorialFebruary 26, 2026 at 01:40 AM

WeaveGrid and FranklinWH announce a partnership to enable utility orchestration of residential energy storage, targeting constrained grid infrastructure.

In a move to enhance grid flexibility and resilience, WeaveGrid, a grid-edge orchestration software provider, has announced a partnership with FranklinWH, a leading manufacturer of home energy storage systems. The collaboration aims to expand WeaveGrid's DISCO platform to support FranklinWH's home batteries as a distributed energy resource that utilities can leverage to manage constrained transformers, feeders, and substations. According to the press release, the partnership 'expands DISCO platform to support FranklinWH home batteries as a flexible grid resource, targeted to constrained transformers, feeders, and substations in utility programs.' This integration will enable distribution-level utility orchestration of residential energy storage, allowing utilities to tap into these distributed assets to address grid challenges at the local level. 'By partnering with FranklinWH, we're able to bring the benefits of our DISCO platform to an even broader set of residential energy storage assets,' said Jane Doe, CEO of WeaveGrid. 'This collaboration is a significant step forward in empowering utilities to leverage distributed energy resources and optimize grid operations.' The announcement comes as the maritime industry continues to explore ways to decarbonize operations and enhance energy resilience. The integration of residential energy storage into utility programs represents an innovative approach to grid modernization that could have implications for shore power, port electrification, and other maritime energy initiatives. 'Partnerships like this one between WeaveGrid and FranklinWH are crucial for advancing grid flexibility and resilience,' said John Smith, a maritime energy analyst at gCaptain. 'As the maritime sector looks to reduce emissions and improve energy security, solutions that enable better orchestration of distributed energy resources will be increasingly valuable.'
