Risen Energy Advances Ultrathin Solar Cell Production
By MGN Editorial•March 11, 2026 at 09:42 PM
Risen Energy shares its journey from concept to mass production of high-performance, radiation-resistant ultrathin solar cells for potential space-based applications.
Risen Energy, a leading solar technology company, has detailed its progress in developing and scaling up production of ultrathin solar cells, a key enabler for future space-based photovoltaic systems.
According to a press release from the company, Risen Energy's ultrathin solar cell technology features a lightweight design, high power output, and strong radiation resistance - attributes that could make it well-suited for use in space-based solar power applications.
'As discussions around 'space-based photovoltaics' continue within the industry, several critical technical attributes are repeatedly mentioned: lightweight design, high power output, and radiation resistance,' the company stated.
Risen Energy's journey has involved overcoming technical hurdles to move the technology from the initial concept stage to mass production. The company highlighted its ability to maintain high conversion efficiency and mechanical integrity during the scaling process.
'We're pleased to share our experience in taking this innovative solar technology from the drawing board to full-scale manufacturing,' said a Risen Energy spokesperson. 'The performance and durability of these ultrathin cells could be a game-changer for future space-based power systems.'
The announcement comes as the maritime industry increasingly looks to renewable energy solutions, including space-based solar, to reduce its environmental impact and carbon footprint. Lightweight, high-output solar technology could have applications across the shipping, offshore, and port sectors.
