Samsung showcases a comprehensive portfolio of advanced HVAC systems designed for the unique needs of the maritime industry.

In a move to address the specialized climate control requirements of the maritime sector, Samsung Electronics has unveiled a comprehensive lineup of intelligent HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) solutions tailored for ships, offshore platforms, and other marine environments. According to the announcement from Samsung, the company's HVAC systems leverage advanced inverter technology and intelligent design to deliver comfort and energy efficiency without compromise. The portfolio is built to adapt to the unique climate, application, and occupant needs found in maritime settings. 'Our maritime HVAC solutions reflect Samsung's commitment to performance and sustainability,' said Alex Sim, Vice President of Samsung's Climate Solutions division. 'By combining our expertise in electronics and climate control, we're enabling ship owners and operators to create comfortable, energy-efficient environments that support the unique demands of life and work at sea.' The new systems incorporate features such as remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and integration with ship management systems - allowing for centralized control and optimization of onboard climate conditions. Samsung also highlighted the products' resilience to the harsh marine environment, with enhanced protection against corrosion, vibration, and temperature extremes. 'This latest announcement from Samsung is a welcome development for the maritime industry,' commented Jack Anderson, Editor-in-Chief of gCaptain. 'As ships become more sophisticated and passenger expectations rise, the need for reliable, intelligent climate solutions has never been greater. Samsung's entry into this space could help drive innovation and improve quality of life for crews and passengers alike.' The new HVAC lineup will be on display at the upcoming Nor-Shipping exhibition in Oslo, Norway, giving industry stakeholders an opportunity to experience the technology firsthand. Samsung has stated that the systems will be available for order through authorized maritime equipment distributors starting in the third quarter of 2026.
