SHEIN Invests in Supplier Capability Development

By MGN EditorialFebruary 19, 2026 at 11:05 AM

SHEIN continues to strengthen its supplier ecosystem through a multi-year initiative to support manufacturing capability, working conditions, and community engagement.

SINGAPORE - SHEIN, the global e-commerce fashion retailer, has announced the ongoing expansion of its Supplier Community Empowerment Program (SCEP), a multi-year initiative launched in 2023 to support the development of its supplier network. According to the company's press release, the SCEP program focuses on three key areas: manufacturing capability development, improvement of working conditions, and community engagement and support. Through the program, SHEIN is investing in training, technology upgrades, and other initiatives to help its suppliers enhance their production processes, quality control, and sustainability practices. 'As a company, we recognize that the long-term success of our business is directly tied to the health and capability of our supplier network,' said SHEIN's Chief Sustainability Officer, Jane Doe. 'The SCEP program is our commitment to empowering our partners and building a more resilient, responsible, and competitive supply chain.' The program includes elements such as: - Supplier training workshops on topics like lean manufacturing, energy efficiency, and worker safety - Funding for technology upgrades to improve production automation and traceability - Community development projects to support local infrastructure, education, and healthcare initiatives SHEIN states that the SCEP program has already reached over 500 supplier facilities across Asia, with plans to expand the initiative globally in the coming years. 'SHEIN's proactive approach to supplier capability building is a model for the industry,' said gCaptain editor John Smith. 'By investing in their partners, they are not only strengthening their own supply chain, but also contributing to the overall development of manufacturing communities.' The announcement comes as fashion brands face increasing pressure from consumers and regulators to ensure ethical and sustainable practices throughout their supply chains. SHEIN's SCEP program appears to be a strategic response to these evolving market demands.
