## Taiwanese Wave Energy Project Secures Land Lease
According to Offshore Energy, Eco Wave Power's 100 kW onshore wave energy pilot project in Taiwan has secured a land lease agreement. This marks a significant milestone for the project, which aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of the company's wave energy conversion technology.
The land lease agreement provides Eco Wave Power with the necessary site to install and operate its wave energy conversion units. This is an important step forward as the company works to establish its first commercial-scale wave energy project in Taiwan, a country with significant wave energy potential.
'Securing the land lease is a crucial step in the deployment of our 100 kW pilot project in Taiwan,' said Inna Braverman, Founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power. 'We are excited to continue advancing this project and showcasing the capabilities of our technology.'
## Offshore Modular Data Centers Arrive in Norway
In other maritime technology news, Norway's oil and gas company Aker BP has partnered with Armada, an edge infrastructure company, to deploy an offshore modular data center on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), as reported by Offshore Energy.
The offshore data center is designed to provide computing power and data storage closer to Aker BP's drilling operations, reducing the need to transmit data long distances to onshore facilities. This 'edge' computing approach can improve efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance the overall digital capabilities of offshore drilling activities.
'Bringing modular data centers offshore is an innovative step that will unlock new possibilities for Aker BP and the broader Norwegian oil and gas industry,' said Trond Straume, CEO of Armada. 'This collaboration represents an important milestone in the digitalization of offshore operations.'
