Titan Clean Fuels and Sogestran Partner to Deploy New LNG Bunker Vessel in Western Mediterranean

## New LNG Bunkering Capacity Coming to Western Mediterranean Titan Clean Fuels, operating under the Molgas Group umbrella, has entered into a long-term strategic agreement with French shipowner Sogestran Group for the construction, charter, and operation of a new co-designed liquefied natural gas bunker vessel (LNGBV), according to Offshore Energy. The new vessel, with a capacity of 6,000 cubic metres, will introduce dedicated ship-to-ship LNG bunkering services to the Western Mediterranean — a region where demand for alternative marine fuels continues to grow as shipowners accelerate their transition away from conventional heavy fuel oil. ### A Co-Designed Partnership The deal is notable for its collaborative structure. Rather than a straightforward charter arrangement, Titan Clean Fuels and Sogestran Group have jointly participated in the vessel's design process, signalling a deeper operational alignment between the two parties. This co-design approach is increasingly common in the LNG bunkering sector, where vessel specifications must be closely matched to the operational requirements of the fuel supplier and the ports and anchorages they serve. Sogestran Group brings established shipowning and ship management expertise to the partnership, while Titan Clean Fuels contributes its LNG supply and bunkering operations network developed through its parent, Molgas Group — one of Europe's leading LNG distributors. ### Strategic Significance for the Region The Western Mediterranean has seen growing interest from shipping companies seeking LNG bunkering options, particularly as IMO emissions regulations tighten and more dual-fuel newbuildings enter service on trades passing through the region. Ports including Barcelona, Valencia, and Marseille have been developing LNG infrastructure, and the addition of a dedicated 6,000-cbm LNGBV will provide greater flexibility for vessel operators requiring ship-to-ship transfers rather than fixed terminal bunkering.
