By MGN EditorialFebruary 13, 2026 at 03:24 AM

Two major maritime industry moves - Trojan Battery appoints new master distributor, and Legrand acquires Kratos Industries and invests in Accelsius cooling tech.

In a pair of significant maritime industry developments, Trojan Battery Company has expanded its master distributor network with the appointment of Motive Energy, while Legrand has announced the acquisition of Kratos Industries and a strategic investment in Accelsius' two-phase liquid cooling technology. Trojan Battery, a global leader in battery innovation, has partnered with Motive Energy to strengthen its distribution footprint across the Western United States. According to the press release, 'the new partnership will ensure premier service and support for customers' as Trojan Battery works to meet growing demand. 'This expanded distribution network will help us better serve our customers and provide them with the high-quality products and services they expect from Trojan Battery,' said Michael Grundke, Trojan Battery's Chief Commercial Officer. Meanwhile, Legrand - the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures - has made two major moves to bolster its power and thermal management portfolio. The company has acquired Kratos Industries, a provider of innovative power distribution and control solutions. Legrand has also made a strategic investment in Accelsius, a developer of two-phase liquid cooling technology for AI-ready infrastructure. 'These advancements strengthen Legrand's end-to-end capabilities in power and thermal management, positioning us to better support the evolving needs of our maritime and industrial customers,' said John Selldorff, CEO of Legrand North and Central America. The Kratos acquisition and Accelsius investment align with Legrand's strategy to expand its offerings for data centers, edge computing, and other mission-critical applications, according to The Maritime Executive. Overall, these developments demonstrate continued innovation and investment across the maritime industry supply chain, from battery technology to power distribution and cooling solutions. As the sector navigates challenges like electrification and decarbonization, partnerships and acquisitions like these will be crucial to meeting the evolving needs of ship owners, port operators, and other key stakeholders.
