Karpowership, a Turkish floating power plant company, has awarded Seatrium, a Singapore-based firm, the lead role in converting a new floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).

Karpowership, a leading Turkish floating power plant company, has selected Seatrium, a Singapore-based maritime services provider, to lead the conversion of a new floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), according to an announcement from Offshore Energy. The FSRU conversion project will be a significant undertaking, as FSRUs play a crucial role in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply chain. These specialized vessels are used to receive, store, and regasify LNG, making it available for distribution through pipelines or other transportation methods. Seatrium, known for its expertise in maritime engineering and project management, will be responsible for overseeing the entire conversion process. This includes design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities to transform the vessel into a fully operational FSRU. 'We are delighted to be entrusted with this important project by Karpowership,' said a Seatrium spokesperson. 'Our team's extensive experience in FSRU conversions will ensure the successful delivery of this state-of-the-art unit, which will contribute to Türkiye's energy security and diversification efforts.' The selection of Seatrium for this project underscores Karpowership's confidence in the company's capabilities and its commitment to collaborating with industry-leading partners to enhance Türkiye's energy infrastructure.
