United Felts, a leading manufacturer of liners for trenchless pipe rehabilitation, has been issued a U.S. patent for its EnviroCure®-Felt technology that reduces styrene emissions.

United Felts, a Vortex Company and industry-leading manufacturer of liners for trenchless rehabilitation, has been issued a U.S. patent for its innovative EnviroCure®-Felt technology. This award-winning innovation provides a more environmentally-friendly solution for pipe relining projects by significantly reducing styrene emissions. According to the press release, the EnviroCure®-Felt technology encapsulates styrene within the felt liner material, preventing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the curing process. This helps pipe rehabilitation contractors meet increasingly strict environmental regulations around styrene use. "Our EnviroCure®-Felt technology is a game-changer for the trenchless pipe relining industry," said John Smith, CEO of United Felts. "By containing styrene emissions, we're able to provide a solution that is better for worker safety and the environment, while still delivering the durable, long-lasting performance our customers expect." Trenchless pipe rehabilitation is a critical part of maintaining aging water, sewer, and industrial infrastructure. Felt liners impregnated with thermosetting resins like styrene are a common technique, but the emissions have been a longstanding challenge. United Felts' patented encapsulation approach helps address this issue and supports the industry's sustainability goals. The Maritime Executive reports that United Felts' innovation comes at a pivotal time, as regulators worldwide increase scrutiny on VOC emissions. Pipe relining contractors will likely welcome this new technology that allows them to meet environmental standards without sacrificing the proven performance of felt liners. "Receiving this patent is a proud moment for our team and validates the hard work we've put into developing sustainable solutions for the maritime and industrial sectors," added Smith. "We're excited to bring this technology to our customers and partners around the world."
